Evening Talk Series
Aleksandar Stamenkovic New insight into urban planning of Caričin Grad (Justiniana Prima?) – The application of advanced remote sensing methods and high-resolution near-surface geophysics
The first talk will be by our member Aleksandar Stamenkovic who has been working on the project at Caričin Grad which included a combination of different remote sensing analyses and fieldwork results. His part of the project, and the topic of his talk, illustrates how he compiled and used a database to combine information (from excavations, remote sensing of many kinds, and other surveys) to ask questions and tell a story. Aleksandar’s project has added landscape contexts to the excavations (water supply, external structures) as well as filling in details on the hill itself.
